Minister wants single air space
St Lucia's Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Allen Chastanet wants regional leaders to revisit the issue of designating the Caribbean a single air space, when they meet in July.
The single air space was piloted during last year's Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean.
Mr Chastanet says the idea must again be explored to allow for harmonised standards and regulations governing air travel in the region.
Senator Chastanet was speaking in Bridgetown, where aviation stakeholders met on Wednesday to examine ways of making intra-regional air travel more cost-effective.
