Energy company enters Caribbean market
Encore Energy Systems, a United States-based company which provides
alternative energy sources and technology has announced plans to expand
into the Caribbean market to help the region better deal with the
impact of rising world oil prices.
The move will see holding company, Modern Technology Corp which
recently acquired Encore, providing funding sourced through Caribbean
and South American government organisations which are interested in
promoting the use of energy efficient technologies in the region. "The Caribbean is particularly vulnerable to the rising price of
crude oil and power generation is wholly dependent on oil. This fact
creates a threatening drain on their economies and impact on local
pristine environments through ever-rising carbon emissions," Encore
stated in a release issued yesterday. "The company's technologies and solutions can reduce power
consumption dramatically. Hot water generation costs can be lowered 95
per cent. HVAC heating/cooling costs can be lowered typically 40 to 70
per cent." "The company's solutions quickly pay for themselves through electricity savings." In preparation for the market expansion Encore has entered a sales
partnering agreement to supply AMK Solar Collectors. These units
generate domestic hot water resulting in lower electricity bills. According to Encore, its strategy is to introduce not only
energy-saving technologies to the Caribbean but also to promote job
creation and energy independence. It said it will actively promote skills and jobs training throughout
the region in the areas of geothermal systems engineering and solar
power technologies. Source: caribbaen360.com
